Zombies?!
Yes… zombies – the walking dead, the living dead, or whatever you call them – they’re taking over the world.
Obviously, I don’t mean REAL zombies – I mean, if they WERE real, I don’t think I’d take the time to compose an email to inform all of my readers…
No, I’m talking about a market that has seemed to shoot up, practically overnight – the almost $10 Billion zombie industry.
Shows like The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead – are ratings juggernauts – while movies like World War Z or Zombieland clean up at the box office…
So it should be no surprise that zombies have become BIG business over the past decade.
Growing up, one of my friends was REALLY into monsters – but zombies were his favorite…
So much so that he had actually bought some of his favorite titles on VHS – and this was in the 80’s, when buying tapes wasn’t cheap. I can remember when he showed me one of his favorites, from the originator of zombie flicks, George A. Romero – Dawn of the Dead.
It scared the living daylights out of me…
And that’s what seems to hold the fandom of this monster together – fear. Because unlike other monsters like vampires or werewolves it’s scary to think that a virus or radioactivity or biblical curse could turn us humans into these shambling, flesh hunting, creatures.
And while I tried my hardest not to show my buddy I was afraid – I could see why so many people have formed this love/hate relationship with the living dead.
Love, because for many people, they’ve found a monster that ACTUALLY scares them – something not easily done with the common fair of monster films.
And hate, well… hate because the prospect DOES scare them!
What seems so appealing about these stories, is that most of them really aren’t about zombies at all…
The stories are about the survivors and what they have to do to ensure their survival. It’s the break down of society that seems to be so thrilling.
Seeing how far people might go to survive something like a zombie virus outbreak and whether they’ll keep their humanity or become hardened and heartless in response to a cold dead world.
And that’s exactly what the Godfather of the zombie film, George A. Romero told the Associated press back in 2008, saying,
“The zombies, they could be anything. They could be an avalanche, they could be a hurricane. It’s a disaster out there. The stories are about how people fail to respond in the proper way.”
And it’s for this reason that the CDC has seen the value in this genre too…
Due to the popularity of zombies, the CDC has released a “Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse” – a “what to do” plan on how to survive a zombie apocalypse.
But not because they believe that zombies are real…
But because preparing for zombies is like preparing for any disaster – and if you have a plan for zombies – you’ll have a survival plan for other dangerous scenarios, like floods or viral outbreaks.
Well, with the world going zombie crazy, I decided to do a little research and figure out how we can profit from this…
And I’ve found a few different places we could put some of our money that may allow us to make a pretty penny from this explosive industry.
One of the best places is one you wouldn’t expect – Sony (SNE).
Sony has a few different avenues to profit from the zombie craze – with their hands in movies, television, and video games – zombies have put a lot of $$$ into their pockets.
And with Marvel under their umbrella, Disney (DIS), a current GorillaPick, has also been able to profit from the living dead – it’s all a matter of looking where the trail leads.
I actually have my eye on another stock or two that could soon cash in BIG on this whole zombie thing – I’m just waiting to see if they’ll be a good fit for my GorillaTrades subscribers first.
What makes the GT system so popular is that it dots all the I’s and crosses all of the T’s to make sure that my subscribers will get a chance to make the biggest potential profit by minimizing their risk.
It’s what helped me turn just $250K into more than $5 Million dollars…
Now, I’d love to have you with me on my next recommendation – but I understand that there are lone wolves out there that would rather go at it on their own. If that’s you, I just hope you enjoyed the article…
If there’s anything you should take away from this – it’s that even some of the most obscure markets on the planet can help make us money.
We don’t need to just stick to the big basics anymore…
We just need to look!
“That’s the thing about zombies. They don’t adapt and they don’t think. Literally, you could have a zombie on one side of a chain link fence and you could be on the other side and they could be trying to get to you and six feet down could be an open door and they will not go through that door in the fence. That’s why they’re so scary.” – Max Brooks
