Renewable energy…
For decades, we have been trying to find a way to really reduce our carbon footprint through the eventual phasing out of the fossil fuels that have been running our planet for centuries.
The reasoning behind the push is simple: renewable energy sources such as wind, hydro, or solar – have much less of an impact on our environment.
And while it’s been a noble cause – the fact remained that fossil fuels like coal or oil were just too cost efficient to give up…
But technology almost always catches up to a problem – and it seems that advances in the science behind renewables has finally figured out some of the big problems they were having.
Which is good for the environment and ecosystems…
But is going to be GREAT for investors who get into the game sooner rather than later.
One of the first lessons I learned in the financial world is that it’s easy to find which markets or industries were on the rise (or decline) – all you had to do was simply follow the money.
Now, when I say, “follow the money” – I don’t mean find which stocks people are investing in and jump on board…
That’s actually the opposite of what you should do. No, when I say, “follow the money”, I mean look to see where the major players are putting their money.
People have gotten rich from this “piggy back” method – simply by mirroring the moves of some of these guys…
In fact, I’ve even heard a story of a guy that has made a FORTUNE from making every move that Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway has made – true story!
But following the money is one of the easiest ways for small fish like us to make a little bit of coin with an easy move.
Now, when it comes to renewables, it may finally be time for investors to really put some faith behind the industry…
And I’m not just saying that because Clean Energy became a $200 billion market in the U.S. over the past couple of years – nor the fact that globally, Clean Energy is worth $1.4 TRILLION.
No, why I’m saying it’s time to finally put our faith behind renewables is simple…
The big boys are getting in on the action.
BP (BP), one of the giants of the oil and gas industry, made headlines about a month ago when it ventured BACK into the renewables market when they made a $200 million investment in British-based, Lightsource Renewable Energy Ltd., a solar energy company.
What makes this an interesting tidbit of information is the fact that this isn’t BP’s first time in the clean energy waters…
In fact, they had their own unit that made solar panels at one point, but closed it six years ago.
And honestly, it makes sense, because how else is an oil company supposed to protect their interests in a world that is constantly looking for cleaner forms of energy?
But not many people batted an eye…
$200 million to a company the size of BP is chump change.
However…
One of the stories making the rounds this week has been that BP threw its hat in the proverbial ring to acquire one of Italy’s largest solar companies – to the tune of $1.8 billion.
Yes, the gas and oil giant has made two moves in as many months to get in BIG on the renewable energy train.
A private equity firm, Terra Firma Capital Partners Ltd. , will start the bidding of Rete Rinnovabile Srl next month, which is valued at about 1.5 billion euros ($1.8 billion) by Terra Firma.
That’s a lot of cheddar to throw down on a company…
And it reiterates my earlier statement about following the money. Because if BP is getting in on the action – you can bet that the industry is on the verge of being not only viable as a solid energy source – but also a solid investment for regular Joes.
That’s why I’ve got my eye on a few companies that I think could make my GorillaTrades subscribers a nice profit.
It’s reassuring that BP is investing a lot into the industry – which let’s me know
I’m right on track with the kinds of stocks I’m looking at as recommendations.
I’ll be sending an email to my subscribers the MOMENT one (or several) of these stocks meet all of the technical requirements of the GT trading matrix – and I hope you’re with us as a subscriber when that happens.
Of course, I understand if you’d rather do your own thing…
Just do yourself a favor and start researching renewables NOW, because soon – it may be too late!
