Let’s be honest…
While the lure of electric cars gets harder to ignore, especially with today’s fluctuating gas prices and the attractive options that Tesla is putting out, the truth of the matter is, a fully electric car is not feasible for many of today’s American commuters.
The ease of fossil fuels is something that’s just too hard to give up…
But that may be about to change.
It used to be that an individual’s office or place of employment would be anywhere from 2-10 miles from their homes, and when you factor in driving to the store or shuttling kids from school to sports…
Most are looking at about 175 miles per week just in daily driving.
Meaning that most start out with a full tank on Monday, but by Friday, they find themselves down to half of a tank or less – however, many find it much easier to fill up the tank when needed than trying to find a place to plug in our cars.
It’s just too easy letting fossil fuels do their job…
But as I said – that might not be the case for long.
While a lot of headway has been made already, mostly by Elon Musk and his Tesla Motors – a recent article on the website, ScienceDaily.com, says that a MAJOR breakthrough on these batteries could be just around the corner.
How big of a breakthrough? Let’s hope it’s massive…
Because for electric cars to become viable, the battery capacity must be significantly increased. As of right now, most of today’s batteries hold the amount of energy that’s almost two levels LOWER than that of fossil fuels.
This means that a battery pack containing the same energy level comparable to 13 gallons of gasoline, would weigh between 1.5 and 2 tons – or about the total weight of the car itself – not to mention that most cars carry anywhere from 16 to 24 gallons, and you could see how that could increase the cars overall weight significantly.
Which is why most companies are turning away from lead-acid and towards lithium.
Lithium is soft and universally considered the lightest of all metals…
While the lead batteries hold one of the heaviest.
To reduce the weight of batteries, lithium is obviously the way to go, Tejs Vegge, Department head of Energy Conversion and Storage at the Technical University of Denmark says:
“If we succeed in developing this technology, we are facing the ultimate break-through for electric cars, because in practice, the energy density of Li-air batteries will be comparable to that of petrol and diesel, if you take into account that a combustion engine only has an efficiency of around 30 percent.”
This is where we’re headed…
While Thomas Edison introduced the first Electric Car, it hasn’t come that much further in 111 years.
But that’s the beauty of science…
Every day they work, is one day closer to a potential solution.
And smart investors are moving in now. There are many different options out there if you’re looking to add this powerful commodity to your portfolio…
From mining companies, to production companies, to Elon’s company itself – picking up lithium could be a prudent move for your financial future.
Now, GorillaTrades doesn’t work like traditional trading services – so I can’t promise that we’ll be recommending any lithium companies – but what I can promise you is a chance at making money on a regular basis.
We’d love for you to try GorillaTrades – and let us help take some of the load off your back!
But, even if you decide to take Wall Street on all by yourself – please consider looking a little deeper into lithium…
It could be your best bet at future profits!
